  1. Plot
  • Beginning
It was getting on toward six o’clock so I thought I’d buy myself a beer and go out and sit in a deck chair by the swimming pool and have a little evening sun. It starts outside a hotel, under a yellow umbrella by the swimming pool. Me and the little man watching Americans cadets and English girls in the swimming pool. The young boy and an English girl came up to the little man and me and sat down at the same table. The young boy offers a smoke to everyone. When he's going to light the smoke between his lips, the little man says: "That will not work in this wind." "Sure it'll work. It always works" the cadet answers. The little man starts discussing with the cadet and offers a bet, the bet I about the lighter successfully lights 10 times I a raw, without failing one single time.
  • Climax
He will get a Cadillac if he makes the bet. If the lighter wont light, he must scarify one of the little finger. The young boy is “in” and they goes up to the hotel room to do the bet.As soon as the little man gets the equipment he needs to hold his hand, he starts to prepare the bet. The cadet has to have his hand on a table, so the little man can take his finger as soon as the lighter fails to light.
  • End
When they were in the middle of the bet, a woman came in and interrupted, probably the wife of the little man. She told the young boys that the little man is mentally disturbed, in the last years he has chopped of more than 47 fingers from different people. They can’t go through with the bet because he doesn’t have anything to bet. The car doesn’t belong to the little man, it belong to the woman.
